How can we be a blessing this Thanksgiving?

During times like this, all of us can be a blessing somehow to someone that we know in our community and in our family.

Thanksgiving is next week, a lot of people in our community are needing help financially. Some have lost their jobs because of COVID-19 and this is a great time to be a blessing to people in our community. For example, we can all show someone love by leaving a plate of food at their doorstep for Thanksgiving. Think of all the people you know who prepare incredible spreads for Thanksgiving: what assistance could you lend them? Even something like sending a gift card or sharing a special dish could lighten their workload.

I was thinking to myself last week how can I be a blessing to people in my community Thanksgiving week? Just by me asking, my mentor Yvonne Brooks said to me that her son new restaurant is providing food for the homeless on Thanksgiving! I knew right away that was my opportunity to volunteer to make plates of food; it was something small that would count as my contribution.

You can hear Yvonne on my show as she co-hosts our interview of Heidi Marie Ferren. She is a writer, actress, singer, producer, and has an amazing story! Please tune in to listen to our Thanksgiving show on Saturday November 21st at 4:30 PM
