Overcoming Life’s Struggles

In the marathon life offers, there are always hurdles. The biggest challenge I faced was fighting cancer. During this time, I was also attending night school. As a result of my illness, I lost my job.

At first, it was not easy to overcome these challenges because I felt lost, and I wasn’t sure where to seek help. I often speak about the four ways in which I came through this difficult time, but for now, I want to focus on something related which is also important: self-care.

I say to motivate yourself by taking care of yourself first. Self-care, meditation, reading the bible, and finding a way to visualize a better future for yourself no matter how hard times become-those were key in my dark time. As a bonus, surround yourself with positive people because they will motivate you to continue achieving your goals, and they will want you to be at your best.

Even though life was difficult, I approached it as a test that I was going through, and I passed by not giving up. The worst thing you could do is take time off from your problems because they will never go away. I never take time off when I am going through difficulties because I do not sit around feeling bad for myself. Continuously working on our goals is one way to stay focused and gives us hope that better things are coming our way.
