It’s very common to lose our motivation, that is the reason why it is so important to have a “Why” behind what we are doing. Our why is everything! My why for working so hard is to help provide a better life for my family. My daughter is three years old, being able to provide her with a better life than I had is especially important to me.
How do we deal with a lack of motivation? We have to ask ourselves why we are pursuing the goals that we are pursuing, why are we working at the job we are working at. Is it because this is the job that we desire or is it simply the job that provides us with a paycheck? Our why is our motivation, so we always must go back to our why.
Always focus on this thought when losing motivation: WHAT IS MY ‘WHY’?
It is also very important to have someone that you can talk to when we have a difficulty in our careers and lives. I have mentors who I talk to; from them I feel a sense of connectedness which prevents me from ever feeling alone.
How do we keep faith when it feels as though the walls are closing in? It’s easy to have faith when everything is going great. Hebrews 11:1 says “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” So, it is especially important even when we do not see great things coming to believe that great things are going to happen to us.
I discuss this, and related matters, on my radio show.
